Joining Forces To Improve and Protect The Soil Quality

Haver & Boecker Niagara & Sweidan Industrial Services commissioning together a successful project with one of the largest potash producer worldwide

What role does the potash industry play in the dynamically developing 21st century? One question, thousands of answers. Even when we live in a society where information overload is a fact, we often forget to think outside the box, in this case to look beyond the label on the product we buy. The global food supply of almost eight billion people is based on efficient agriculture. In other words, a world without fertilizers is unimaginable! Due to the increasing population worldwide, the still prevailing hunger and malnutrition in different parts of the world, it is bitterly necessary to face the demand for sustainability and to use innovative engineering to guarantee the longevity of the quality of our soils. According to statistics, if we do not put efforts into making changes in our agricultural practices and the effects of the phenomenon called global warming get worse, we are facing the problem of losing 66% of our soils. Fertilizers are the prerequisite to feed the global population – today and tomorrow!

With the development of the potash industry and the consideration of moral complexity of climate change, more and more questions about the processing and use of potash are being arisen. Recognizing the need of innovation in the field of granulation, specially screening and pelletizing, Haver & Boecker Niagara has reinforced its place as a market leader and provides complex solutions of machines that meet the established standards for sustainability. Confronted with uneven global nutrient demand and taking the Liebig´s “Law of Minimum” into account, which states that the yield of a plant is determined by that nutrient of which the smallest amount is available, we are proud to note that we have already embarked on the journey of introducing innovative technology in the fertilizer industry. By doing so, we deliver solutions for increasing the quality of the soil fertility and make our contribution to the settlement of the benefits of using green process innovation.

On the way to fulfilling our vision, we worked with the premier partner in the Middle East region – Sweidan Industrial Services. Our successful partnership has led us to getting in touch and working with one of the biggest potash manufacturers in the world.

Recognizing our professionalism, modern and environmentally friendly way of working, as well as the passion that marks all our work, the client trusted our services by placing order to design his new potash storage and reclaim facility equipment. After months of hard work, our team is glad to announce that we realized this fascinating reclaim and loading terminal for potash. Including reclaim units for the storaged fertilizer, screening stations to guaranty the product sizes, mixing unit for fertilizer blending, truck loading systems for containers and bulk, classification of potash for bagging lines. Plant nominal design is 480t/h of potash at 2 and 4mm. The plant is at assembling stage, start-up would be in a few months. This complex solution and efficient production circle gives our customer the chance to take advantage of the best product quality. High efficiency, longevity, maximum availability and improved quality for our soils – the result of Haver & Boecker Niagara’s innovative strength.

Realizing the urgent need for action, Haver & Boecker Niagara is proud to already have fulfilled an order from one of the largest potash producer worldwide for designing a sustainable complex solution of machines – a ship loading terminal for processing potash. Thanks to the diligence, tireless motivation and high professional skills of our entire team, we prove once again that engineering and sustainability can go hand in hand in our dynamic industry, aiming to make our world better.

“By successfully making our place in the fertilizer industry, we aim at contributing to saving our soils and also strengthen understanding and perceptions of mineral fertilizer use. In our society where global food security is not just a term, potash is a hero for both plants and humans. As a leading provider in mineral processing technology, we are glad to provide a sustainable and innovative solutions for processing fertilizer.” (Dr.-Ing. Jan Lampke, Head of sales and projects at Haver Engineering GmbH)

Believing that today’s reality shaped by the influence of environmental, economic and political trends, can be separated from the term impossible, our team is proud to be part of the fertilizer industry and to continue introducing new modern and sustainable solutions.
