Haver & Boecker Niagara’s custom dewatering unit featuring the Niagara L-Class U 930 x 2000 vibrating screen has enabled one producer to increase productivity and streamline its recycling process. The compact modular design and hose connection of the L-Class allows for easy assembly and heightened efficiency, while the unit’s ability to separate impurities in as little as 15 minutes reduces the need for manual labor. With this equipment, the operation can empty vacuum trucks containing hazardous recycled materials and maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Haver & Boecker Niagara’s Pelletizing Disc Scarabaeus offers an innovative sustainable and economical solution to the problem of surplus aggregates, unusable filler fractions, and sludges from washing plants or fines from recycling demolition materials. The agglomeration process transforms these non-usable residues into high-quality construction aggregates that can be used in concrete production or as lightweight aggregates. With its proven process technology and global engineering expertise, Haver & Boecker Niagara supports customers in meeting tomorrow’s challenges and contributing to a more sustainable circular economy.
Traditionally, during the processing of sand and gravel deposits, fines <63 µm are washed out, dewatered and then landfilled or flushed back into the deposit. This results in the production of commercially unusable fine sands an issue common in the Netherlands, Northern Germany, Poland and the Baltics. After being processed, the fines must be returned to the deposit, incurring added — and unplanned — material handling costs. Additionally, large quantities of crushed sands are also produced by the deconstruction and recycling of building materials.
“The SCARABAEUS pelletizing disc, however, restores non-usable residues — increasing their value and providing a high-quality end-product,” says Dr. Jan Lampke, head of sales and projects at Haver Engineering GmbH. “The unique process increases environmental protection and sustainability, while also raising quality standards and improving the economy.” Want to learn more?
